Now we're here at Prambanan.. its just too bad that we can't get into the temples as there was a quake 2 years ago and it ruined many parts of the temples.. I was told to come back again in next 6 years to see the complete temples.. so lets see if i'll be able to make it there again in the next 6 years :P

Once again.. thanks to our OneAsean members that made our trip in Jogja a blast!! Irfan (http://peleth.multiply.com), Elok (http://elokdyah.multiply.com) and Charlie (http://c10dean.multiply.com) .. :)

you know there's a story said that : Couple who dating don't come to this place... will not last longer...
anyway... don't believe it. My friends went here when they were seeing each other, and now they are happily married

Roger, I knew this place from a friend and I am so thankful that i finally went there.. this Hindu temple is even older than Angkor Wat in Cambodia.... but its just too bad that we can't get in there.. but well.. we can wait till next 6 years to see the complete temples and all.. i think its worth waiting :)

Nini, exactly.. this place is around 200 years older than Angkor Wat and still not well known to many tourists.. I heard from the tour guide that there are still lots and lots of temples and treasures down there in the ground waiting to be discovered.. i was so excited to be there.. :)

Wow Sherry, how could I have missed this posting? Haven't heard of this place myself. How far is it from Bali or Borubudur? I fully agree, this place is beautiful...a revelation. Hey, more reason for me to go to Indonesia huh...

I do hope the restoration work would take faster than six years though, coz it would be such a come-on if we can see the insides of these magnificent structures as well, right?

I think someone should get the attention of those governments funding and doing restoration works in the Angkor temples...just an idea =)

If you love Angkor Wat.. you shouldn't miss this place too.. its called Prambanan and its in Jogjakarta province.. while Borobudur is in Magelang province.. if you are going there by plane.. the nearest and most convenient airport is in Jogja.. so you can just stop by at Prambanan which its not far away from the airport.. :)

well.. i hope the restoration would take faster than 6 years too.. cuz i really wanna go back there again sometimes soon to see what's inside those temples..

oh, fyi.. in the next 2-3 years.. the construction of the road from thai border to seam reap will be finished.. so it means that thousands and thousands of tourists will be going to Angkor Wat ... and its gonna be oh so crowded and not so interesting any more.. i really hope i'll get a chance to go back there soon... hehe

Thanks Sherry. Who knows, we might meet each other in Prambanan, hahah. Not a bad idea eh..

Yeah, I'm aware of the road project/s between Poipet and Siem Reap, because I know one of the ADB consultants who worked on it. He was stationed in Siem Reap for 6 months to oversee the start of the project, but that was almost 2 years ago, and I was surprised to see very little improvement. I heard talks in Siem Reap that there may be deliberate delays or slowing down of the road project, because good raods would mean less profits for the airlines serving the Bangkok to Siem Reap route. I hope they're wrong, because it's an awful thought...

And yeah, this situation tears me apart --- I want good roads and faster travel time, but I don't want hordes of tourists spoiling my beloved Angkor Wat. Sigh...

Hi Sherry,

Prambanan looks like a really amazing place. It is really too bad about the earthquake damaging the site. I hope you get a chance to visit after it get restored.

Take care.
